Tips for taking family photos in Asakusa

Asakusa is the most popular tourist spot in Tokyo. Therefore, it’s also a very crowded place.

Here are some tips for taking family photos while avoiding the crowds.

How to avoid crowds 1: Time

I recommend taking photos between 8:00 and 9:00 AM.

This is because the area becomes crowded with foreign tourists and Japanese student groups from around 9:30 AM onwards.

How to avoid crowds 2: Location

The area behind Senso-ji Temple is relatively less crowded, so I recommend it. However, please be considerate of others and move on as soon as you take your photos.
Temples are sacred places. Please refrain from shouting or running.

Consider your desired photos in advance

Asakusa is a very large area, so it’s recommended to decide on the specific locations you want to photograph beforehand.

Search for images online and consult with a photographer. Discuss the meeting place and shooting route, and make sure to prepare in advance so you can shoot at your desired location before it gets too crowded.
